What is “ghosting?” It happens when someone reaches out to another person and never gets a response.
People can “ghost” for so many reasons: either they don’t have time to respond, or they just don’t know what to say.
On Carina, we encourage our users to message one another AND to be responsive. All of our users are ready and eager to find care or work.
So, to keep from “ghosting” each other, here are 5 quick scripts you can copy and paste into your Carina messages:
I have to reschedule the interview last-minute:
Send a simple message letting them know you can no longer make the interview and suggest several new times and dates that work for you.
💬 Hey! I can no longer meet at our planned time, something has come up. I am still very interested in working with you and would like to reschedule. These days/times work for me:
I have to cancel the interview and I do not want to reschedule:
Send them a brief and polite message letting them know you’re no longer interested or seeking a job, but that you wish them the best of luck.
💬 Hey! I [have found another job/am no longer looking for work/don’t think this would be a good fit for me], so I have to cancel our meeting. I wish you the best of luck!
I’m just browsing Carina and I’m not ready to reach out:
Let them know! This way if in the future you do seek care or a job with them, you’ll already be seen as reliable.
💬 Hey! Thanks for reaching out. I’m just browsing Carina at this time, but if that changes I will let you know. Best of luck!
I don’t think it will be a good match:
Let them know politely so that they can spend their time elsewhere.
💬 Hey! I don’t think this would be a good fit for [my schedule/my location/my skill set], but I wish you the best of luck!
